Project Summary: The upgrade of mechanical system was planned and executed in this 37-story hotel in 2014. After a thoroughly investigation of the existing conditions of concrete structure and masonry wall, steel posts and dunnage framing were installed on roof for the new cooling towers. Steel dunnage beams were installed for four boilers in the 37th floor mechanical room. Core drilling on the floors and openings in the shear walls were carried out on site smoothly using GPR rebar detection for the distribution of mechanical ducts throughout floors.
